I work as Director of Software Engineering at GitHub and based in Amsterdam. I’ve been active in the software industry for over 20 years, and love learning new technologies and building great products. In my free time, I volunteer to help eradicate counterfeit medication in Africa using AI. At night I am a gamer, and enjoy playing “modern classics” like World of Warcraft and Counterstrike 😉

Since 1992, my relationship with Japan has been a significant one, having lived there for a cumulative period of 10 years. This experience instilled in me immense admiration and passion for the country’s culture. My wife’s parents are from Greece and we are the proud parents of two children. We currently reside in Amsterdam, Netherlands, where our home language is Dutch and English; however, I am also proficient in Japanese and German - with Greek being my latest language endeavor.
